The All Progressives Congress, APC has fixed new dates for its Congresses in Rivers State. This follows a recent favourable judgment by the the Federal High Court which struck out the case of one Ibrahim Umar and 22 others against the party.
A statement signed by Mr. Emma Ibediro Esq.,
National Organizing Secretary of the APC indicates that the Party has rescheduled to hold Congresses in the state with the specific dates and business of the Congresses as follows:
1. Saturday 21st December, 2019 – Ward Congresses to elect Ward Officials
2. Sunday 22nd December, 2019 – Appeals arising from Ward Congresses 3. Monday 23rd December, 2019 – LGA Congresses to elect LGA Officials
4. Tuesday 24th December, 2019 – Appeals arising from LGA Congresses
5. Friday 27th December, 2019 – State Congresses to elect State Officials 6. Saturday 28th December, 2019 – Appeals arising from State Congresses
Meanwhile, some loyalists of the Senator Magnus Abe faction of the Rivers State APC have condemned with which the party is rushing to conduct the Congresses knowing their resolve to appeal the judgment. They insist that any Congress conducted when all the legal options have not been exhausted who be efforts in futility.
