After series of criticisms against his government for disobeying court orders, the federal government led by President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the release of Sambo Dasuki and Omoyele Sowore.
This directive was made public by Attorney-general, Abubakar Malami on Tuesday.
In a statement, Mr. Malami said:
“The two defendants are enjoined to observe the terms of their bail and refrain from engaging in any act that is inimical to public peace and national security as well as their ongoing trial which will run its course in accordance with the laws of the land.”
Bittertruth Media recalls that Mr Dasuki is a former National Security Adviser while Mr Sowore, an activist and journalist is a former presidential aspirant and convener of the #RevolutionNow protest.
Dasuki is being prosecuted for alleged corruption. And possession of arms while Mr.Sowore is prosecuted for calling for a revolution against bad governance and is accused of plotting to overthrow the government.
Before now, several court orders for their release have not been obeyed by the Buhari led government.
