No fewer than 35 people have lost their lives in Borno State. This follows the detonation of an improvised explosive device on a bridge by terrorists suspected to be members of the Boko Haram Islamic sect.
Bittertruth Media reports that the sad incident occurred on Monday at about 5pm on a crowded bridge in the market town of Gamboru that leads into neighboring Cameroon.
“It is an unfortunate day for us to witness this frustrating and devastating incident in our community,” eyewitness Modu Ali Said told Reuters.
“I just heard a loud sound of explosions, before I realized I saw many of our friends and colleagues were killed,” Said added.
The Nigerian Army was yet to react to the incident.
