Enyimba Football Club Management has announced the sack of Coach Usman Abd’allah with immediate effect.
This was announced via their official Twitter handle on Monday.
In a statement, Fatai Osho, who was Abd’allah’s assistant, is expected to take charge of the Elephant of Aba as interim coach.
“Enyimba Football Club can announce today that coach Usman Abd’allah has been relieved of his duties as Technical adviser with immediate effect,” the statement said.
“After a string disappointing results, the club believe it must set a new course now and regain its competitive edge, domestically and on the continent.
“In the interim. Coach Fatai Osho will take over the head coach duties. All other announcements on this subject will be made later.”
Speaking on the decision, Felix Anyansi Agwu, chairman of the club said:
“This is not a decision we have taken lightly, nor in haste”.
“Results and performances since the start of this season have been unimpressive and the club must take action to forestall further setbacks.
“We are speaking to the players too and they must do better otherwise there will be consequences. As Enyimba Enyimba we are committed to earning positive results and we can’t accept nothing less.”
Bittertruth Media reports that Enyimba FC are currently 13th on the NPFL table with 15 points after ten games played so far.
