PDP Wins Rerun Election In Bauchi State


Hon.Auwal Jatau of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has defeated his rival, Hon.Umar Tata, of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to emerge the winner of Zaki Federal Constituency Rerun Election.

INEC’s Returning Officer for the poll, Professor Ahmed Kutama, announced on Saturday at the collation centre in Bauchi State that Jatau polled a total of 15,405 votes to defeat Tata, who scored 15,307 votes.

Bittertruth Media recalls that Tata had earlier won the main poll but was sacked by the courts and supplementary elections ordered to be conducted in four units of Zaki Federal Constituency.

At the rerun, Jatau scored 782 votes while Tata, garnered 401 votes.

The figures were added to the previous results from the February 23, 2019 elections while the candidate with the highest number of votes was declared as the winner.
