Nigeria’s fourth-largest telecoms service provider, 9mobile, has reportedly lost 2,743,322 subscribers between January and December 2019.
This was according to new subscriber statistics released by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) which revealed that the telco’s share of the market dropped to 7.4%.
Bittertruth Media gathered that in January 2019, 9Mobile had 16,385,317 subscribers but by December, the figure had reduced to 13,641,995.
Meanwhile MTN, Globacom, and Airtel, are the country’s first, second and third-largest telcos respectively.
By the end of 2019, the telecommunications sector in Nigeria reportedly had 184,426,187 subscribers.
