Nigeria’s Minister of Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva has revealed that the sacked deputy governor-elect of Bayelsa State, Senator Biobarakuma Degi-Eremienyo, has ever since then been contemplating committing suicide.
Chief Sylva, who is the Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Bayelsa made this disclosure on Monday while speaking on a live television programme monitored by Bittertruth Media.
He blamed the suicide thought if Senator Degi on the verdict of the Supreme Court which annulled his victory and that of his principal, Chief David Lyon on the allegation that He (Degi) forged his certificates.
“He now considers suicide after the verdict of the Supreme Court. The apex court laid a criminal tag on him without fair hearing and tarnished his hard earned image. I have to be calling him everyday to ensure he doesn’t commit suicide”, Sylva decried.
Sylva who vehemently condemned the judgment and the failed review bid of his party lamented that the apex court has usurped the exclusive electing rights of the people. He also expressed sadness the different positions taken by the Supreme Court on similar issues brought before it.
The former Bayelsa State Governor further urged his followers and party supporters and members to remain calm in the amidst of the provocative decision of the Supreme Court which forced the party and candidate they rejected on them by strange means.
