Despite an initial negative result, there is a strong indication that President Muhammadu Buhari is currently down with symptoms of the global pandemic of Coronavirus.
This follows his earlier contacts with his Chief of Staff and close ally, Abba Kyari, who had earlier tested positive for Coronavirus.
Relying on a top government source, online media, SaharaReporters alleged that President Buhari has been having persistent coughing which has raised fears in Aso Villa that the president might have been exposed to the dreaded disease.
Accordingly, the Presidential Intensive Care Unit inside Aso Villa has reportedly been activated and placed on standby after President Muhammadu Buhari went into self-isolation on Tuesday evening.
This has thrown the presidential Villa into deep tension with a partial shutdown.
Apart from Mr.Buhari, there are fears that other top government functionaries including some governors and entrepreneurs who have had contacts with Mr.Kyari or Buhari stand a risk of being infected.
These persons include Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to President Buhari, Babagana Kingibe, a prominent member of the ‘cabal’, Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello, Aliko Dangote, Governor Bello Masari of Katsina and Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu.
The Ministry of Health has made top preparations to ensure Mr.Buhari and his immediate family members are protected as the virus continues to spread across Nigeria.
