Port-Harcourt, the Rivers State Capital has recorded it’s first Coronavirus Positive Case.
This is as Nigerians are fast becoming apprehensive over the continuous rise in the number of positives cases of the global pandemic confirmed so far in the country.
This fear follows the official announcement by the Nigeria Centre For Disease Control, NCDC, that the total number of Coronavirus Positive cases in Nigeria has risen to 51 with confirmed five fresh new cases of the COVID-19 virus in Abuja, Lagos and Port Harcourt at about 11:25pm on Wednesday night.
Three cases where said to be returning travellers into Nigeria and two are close contact to a confirmed case.
In a tweet on its official Twitter page, the NCDC said;
Five new cases of #COVID19 have been confirmed in Nigeria: 2 in FCT, 2 in Lagos & 1 in Rivers
3 are returning travellers into Nigeria & 2 are close contacts of a confirmed case
As at 11:25 pm 25th March, there are
51 confirmed cases
Bittertruth Media recalls that the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike in a state broadcast earlier on Wednesday had thanked God that a suspected Coronavirus Patient was prevented from entering into the state.
