Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle has sacked the chairmen of the 14 Local Government Areas in the state and re-appointed eight of them as sole administrators.
The sack of the embattled local council chairmen followed the dissolution of the councils leadership by the Zamfara State House of Assembly on Thursday over financial recklessness and improper record-keeping by the council members.
Meanwhile, eight of the sacked chairmen were reportedly reappointed as sole administrators by the Governor.
They include; Ahmed Balarabe, Muhammad Umar, Nasiru Masama, Abdul-Aziz Nahuche, Salisu Dangulbi, Shehu Faru and Lawali Abdullahi.
According to Gov. Matawalle, the newly appointed chairmen will be placed under a probation period of three months, and those who fail to perform would be sacked again.
