Doctors In Nigeria Commence Indefinite Strike Today


Doctors in Nigeria under the umbrella body of National Association of Resident Doctors, NARD will today commence its planned nationwide strike.

This follows a resolution by NARD National Executive Council, NEC after over six hours of deliberations.

The strike action follows the expiration of the 14-day ultimatum issued to the Government to meet their demands.

NARD President, Dr. Aliyu Sokomba who confirmed the commencement of the strike added that doctors managing Covid -19 at the treatment centres in Nigeria are exempted from participating in the strike as demonstration of goodwill to Nigerians.

Dr.Sokomba also thanked Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila and other stakeholders for their sincerity in resolving the issues.
